1000°C for bisque firings & 1280°C for stoneware high fire.

Certified and compliance-plated and adheres to Australian gas regulations.

A gas kiln allows you to control the atmosphere that the piece will be exposed to, which effectively affects the final outcome of glazes and clay bodies. Gas firing is very effective for reduction firings and allows the operator to create a different dimension to ceramic art, bringing out wonderful colours that create unique aspects of the artwork.

• General Kiln Information •

Juz’s TETLOW 6-Burner LPG Kiln is a front-loading, downdraft type for greater stability in temperature.

Internal dimensions are measured between bag-wall tiles, above false-floor tiles to start of the arch, and from inside door surround to back wall. The actual cubic size of the kiln is approximately 60% larger than the working capacity. This is to allow an adequate combustion area around all the wares.

Insulation is made with K26 hot-face insulating bricks and has an arch roof.

Under-fired venturi burners fire into combustion chambers on both sides of the kiln. These are separated from the kiln chamber by bag-wall tiles. The heat then enters the main work chamber, rotates around the chamber, passes down through the wares and false-floor tiles to the chimney mouth on the rear wall.

• Auto & Manual Operation •

The kiln is fitted with an auto/manual switch so when the switch is in the auto position the kiln will automatically fire, lighting each required burner as pre-set into the programmer. When the switch is in the manual position the operator can individually turn the burners on and adjust them as required. The FP93 programmer will operate as an indicator to visually show the operator the internal chamber temperature.
